Before Applying

How Many Programmes Can I Apply to?

You may submit

  • One Online Application including one Master's Programme in Business Administration (in English)
  • One Online Application including two Master's Programmes in Technology (in English)

    The maximum number of applications is considered separately in programmes in English and in Finnish, so the ultimate maximum would be 4 programmes in Technology (2 in English + 2 in Finnish) and 2 in Business Administration (1 in English + 1 in Finnish).

    If submitting extra applications, the prior one/s will be automatically deleted and the latest one will be the only valid one.

  • Fill in one Online Application Form for Business Administration.

WHEN APPLYING TO ONE PROGRAMME IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AND ONE OR TWO PROGRAMMES IN TECHNOLOGY (in English)

When Applying

Fill in the Online Application Form for the Programmes in Business Administration

  • Online Application Form for Master's Programmes in Business Administration
    Only available during Regular Admission.
    To be filled in by using Firefox as your web browser.
  • You can also go to www.studyinfo.fi
    • Search for the programme you are applying to > Go to the programme page
    • Choose the option Rolling Admission and you will find the link 'Fill in Application Form'.
  • Fill in the Online Application Form, upload all the required documents and submit your application by 19 January 2022 at 15:00 (UTC+2).
    The application form will be closed at the time of the DL with NO further access to modifications.
    You cannot submit the application form if not having uploaded all the required documents.
    If you have a document that you can only upload by the supplementary period, you must upload a blank document stating that you will be uploading the right document by the supplementary DL.
    NOTE: For the programmes in Business Administration, you must always list your courses in English on your application form - also whenever they have been completed in Finnish - plus, upload an official Transcript of Records in English for your studies.

     
  • If failing to present any of the information requested* on your Online Application Form, the missing information will not be tracked down from your documents and will therefore, be considered as 'information not provided'.
    For example, only the courses listed on the application form as individual courses** in ECTS credits*** by the time of submitting the application form will be taken into account in the selection process as long as they are listed on the Transcript/s of Records uploaded to your application.

    * Previous studies listed as ECTS credits as requested, indicating/calculating your GPA etc.
    ** If the courses are combined into a larger module with only a total credit mentioned, you must be able to present the included courses individually with individual ECTS credits if you wish them to be taken into account in the evaluation process.
    *** Credits must be converted to ECTS credits by following the LUT conversion that 1 ECTS credit = a workload of 27 hours (incl. lectures, assignments etc.)

Required Documents

  • Degree Certificate (DC) - a scan for your original DC
    No official certification required at the time of applying.

     
  • Transcript of Records (ToR) - a scan for your original ToR
    No official certification required at the time of applying.

     
  • Official translations in English for the DC and ToR (when applicable)
    If the original documents are not issued in English, Finnish or Swedish.
     
  • Unofficial copy for your language test result
    The result will be verified from the test organiser's database.
    Remember to make sure that the test organiser provides LUT University with your electronic result - without it, your test result will not be accepted.

  • Other required documents when required (depending on the programme)
    All the required documents are listed on the Online Application Form.
    No official certification required.
    Do not upload any additional documents as they will be automatically ignored by the Admission Committee.

 

  • Combine all individual pages for each document in the right order into the document required.
    PDF and JPEG documents preferred (max. file size 10 MB).

Submit Your Online Application

  • Carefully fill in your Online Application according to the given instructions.
     
  • Upload all the required documents to your Online Application Form/s.
    All your documents must be clearly readable.
    Name your documents clearly: For example, 'Degree Certificate - Bachelor', 'ToR - Bachelor', 'Letter of Motivation'.
    You cannot submit the application form if not having uploaded all the required documents.
    If you have a document that you can only upload by the supplementary deadline, you must upload a blank document stating that you will be uploading the right document by the supplementary DL.

     
  • Make sure to submit your Online Application Form by the application DL of 19 January 2022 at 15:00 (UTC+2).
    Before submitting it, make sure that you have answered the questions as requested and uploaded all the required documents.
     
  • Documents can still be uploaded until the supplementary DL of 2 February 2022 at 15:00 (UTC+2).
    Upload or re-upload the required documents as soon as possible as the applications and the re-uploads will be checked for in the order of the applicants having uploaded them.
    It is always your responsibility to make sure that the application documents are uploaded by the given deadline.
     
  • Do not mail LUT University any hard copies for your application documents.

After Having Submitted Your Online Application

  • You will first receive an automatic e-mail confirmation from StudyInfo for having submitted your Online Application Form.
     
  • LUT Admissions Services will check your educational documents and your proficiency in English as soon as possible.
    Other documents will only be checked for having been uploaded.
    Your answers on the application form will not be checked for you.
    Applications are checked in the order of them having been submitted.
     
  • LUT Admissions Services will give you feedback on your application by email through StudyInfo.
    We are dealing with a great number of applications, so an immediate response is unfortunately, not possible.
    Please be patient and wait for us to contact you about your application - additional inquiries will only slow down the process for everybody.
     
  • If the uploaded documents are not accepted or, there are educational documents missing
    LUT Admissions Services will e-mail you a detailed request through StudyInfo to supplement your application.
    You may supplement the required documents by 2 February 2022 at 15:00 (UTC+2).
     
  • If the uploaded documents are accepted
    LUT Admissions Services will e-mail you a confirmation e-mail through StudyInfo about your application.

If Admitted

Authentication for Educational Documents

IF ALREADY GRADUATED AT THE TIME OF APPLYING

  • Degree completed in a country with country-specific requirements for document authentication:
    All African countries, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka

    A. Following the country-specific requirements for document authentication
    You must be able to provide us with the hard copies for your Degree Certificate and Transcript of Records together with the official translations in English (when applicable) by mail, attested as requested in the country-specific requirements.
    The DL for LUT Admissions Services to receive the hard copies is
    31 August 2022 at 15:00 (UTC+3).

    B. Providing us with electronically verified documents by Digitary
    If you are able to provide us with your educational documents that are electronically verified by Digitary, there is no official certification according to the country-specific requirements required.
    The DL for LUT Admissions Services to receive the verifications is 31 August 2022 at 15:00 (UTC+3).


 

  • Degree completed in a country with no country-specific requirements for document authentication        
    No need to provide us with attested copies for your educational documents.
     

IF NOT YET GRADUATED AT THE TIME OF APPLYING

  • Degree completed in any country
    If not yet graduated at the time of applying, you must be able to graduate by 31 August 2022 and provide us with a scan for your original Degree Certificate and original Transcript of Records by e-mail by 31 August 2022 at 15:00 (UTC+3).
    If the original documents are not issued in English, you must provide us with the official translations for your Degree Certificate and Transcript of Records by 6 September 2022 at 15:00 (UTC+3), if not having been able to do that earlier.

Final Verification Process for Degrees Completed Outside of Finland

  • After having arrived at LUT University, the final verification process will be completed as the final step for your admission
    You will be requested to bring your original Degree Certificate and Transcript of Records plus the official translations (when applicable) for the final verification process. Not bringing in the required documents or, presenting documents that were involved in any kind of forgery will automatically lead into revoking your right to study at LUT University plus, LUT filing a report to the relevant Finnish authorities.
