Biography

I started my academic professorship in 2013 in Fluid Dynamics Applications in Chemical Engineering. Since 2015, I have led the research group for Chemical Process Design and Development. And in 2018, I started the current professorship in Chemical Process Systems. I have a relatively broad expertise in chemical technology, as my research topics have changed from crystallization to fluid mixing technology by applying artificial intelligence techniques and computational fluid dynamics, as well as chemical process safety at different stages of my career. My expertise in organic synthesis development, product quality systems and crystallization origins from over 10 years of work experience as a process chemist and as senior scientist in the pharmaceutical R&D industry. Chemical process design, process development and chemical process intensification have also been ongoing research and teaching topics. Since 2016, process design and reactor design related to Power-to-X research have been my current areas of interest. I have published over 120 scientific papers, supervised over 110 Masters and 10 doctoral theses. Several expert positions of trust in academic field have included in my academic career, such as long term academic council member, working group tasks in 7 professors selection, acting as advisory board member in 5 large project funding evaluations of highly respected European universities.
