Bachelor's Programmes (Double Degree)


We offer Double Degree studies in the following Bachelor's Programmes:

These Bachelor's Programmes are unique, international double degree programmes developed in cooperation with Hebei University of Technology (HEBUT) in China. Students admitted to the Bachelor's Programmes will be awarded a Degree Certificate from both HEBUT and LUT University after having fulfilled the degree requirements of both universities.

The entire programme will be completed in Finland, either in Lappeenranta Campus or, Lahti Campus depending on the programme location. Lecturers in these programmes are from both universities.

The programmes are 3+2 year programmes: after first having completed a degree Bachelor of Science in Technology in the related programme (180 ECTS credits), you have an automatic admission to continue in a related Master's programme and complete a degree Master of Science in Technology (120 ECTS credits).

Admission for Applicants from Hebei University of Technology (HEBUT)

Applicants from Hebei University of Technology (HEBUT) are welcome to apply through a special application process:

  • Application period to be released
    For studies starting at the end of August 2022
  • HEBUT will first nominate the applicants.
  • LUT University will e-mail the applicants a link to a personal online application form.
  • The applicant will submit the online application and e-mail the required document/s to LUT Admissions Services at admission@lut.fi.
  • The admission results will be published on to be released
  • The admitted students will receive the admission documents and further instructions for the next steps in their admission e-mail.

Tuition Fee

  • The tuition fee for the programme is EUR 9000 per each academic year
  • The tuition fee is to be paid by an admitted non-EU/EEA citizen (Switzerland excluded)

Scholarships

If required to pay a tuition fee, you are eligible to apply for a scholarship.

There are scholarships in the following three categories:

  • Category I:
    The scholarships covers for 2/3 of the total scholarship per academic year

    The number of scholarships awarded is 4% of the total number of the tuition fees paid by the given DL.
     
  • Category II:
    The scholarships covers for 1/3 of the total scholarship per academic year

    The number of scholarships awarded is 8% of the total number of the tuition fees paid by the given DL.
     
  • Category III:
    The scholarship of EUR 1000 per academic year

    The number of scholarships awarded is 38% of the total number of the tuition fees paid by the given DL.
     

GENERAL RULES FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Note: The total number of the scholarships to be awarded will however, not exceed 50% of the total number of the tuition fees paid by the given DL.
    The percentages are regarding to the total number of students in these programmes (students originally from HEBUT + students originally outside of HEBUT).
     
  • For the first academic year at LUT University, the scholarships will be awarded based on the GPA (the weighted score) for their previous academic year in China
    A. Subjected to the requirement that the student has no disciplinary offence record during the past academic year.
     
  • For the second and third academic year at LUT University, the scholarships will be awarded based on GPA (the weighted score) of the previous academic year at LUT University.
    A. Subjected to the requirement that the student has completed a minimum of 60 ECTS credits of studies included in his/her personal study plan.
        These 60 ECTS credits minimum must be included on your Transcript of Records by the end of the academic year (July 31) at the latest.

    B. Subjected to the requirement that the student has no disciplinary offence record during the past academic year.
  • The scholarships will be paid to the student by the end of the first month of each academic year.
    i.e. a total of three times during the studies in a Bachelor's Programme at LUT University.
