Biography

I am a Junior Researcher in the Laser and Additive Manufacturing group at LUT University, where I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree. I hold a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from LUT University, with my thesis focusing on the comparative analysis of mechanical properties and environmental impact of additively manufactured 316L stainless steel via Directed Energy Deposition. My doctoral research centers on Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), with particular emphasis on process parameter optimization, fatigue strength characterization, and the comparative evaluation of metal additive manufacturing technologies. I am actively involved in two research projects; Rakedigi, which addresses experimental and CFD simulation of TPMS lattice structures and Kierto-AM, focused on fatigue testing and material characterization of 17-4PH stainless steel. My broader research interests span Life Cycle Assessment of additive manufacturing processes, circular economy aspects of metal 3D printing, and sustainable manufacturing.
