Biography

Professor (tenured) Najmul Islam conducts research in two closely connected programmes:

1. Responsible, trustworthy and lawful digital system design and development using blockchain and AI.

2. Impacts of digital systems on individuals and organizations. 

Dr. Islam is a Docent (Adjunct Professor) at Tampere University. Islam’s publication has appeared in top Information Systems outlets such as Journal of Strategic Information Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, Information Systems Journal, and Decision Support Systems. He has published in other highly ranked journals and conferences such as IEEE Intelligent Systems, IEEE Transaction on Industrial Informatics, Computers & Education, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, International Journal of Information Management, Information Technology & People, Computers in Human Behavior, Computers in Industry, Internet Research, Communications of the AIS, ACM CHI, ACM CSCW, ICIS, ECIS, HICSS, among others. He is currently serving as a Senior Editor for Information Technology & People journal.
