Biography

Satu Pekkarinen (PhD) is a Professor at the Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (LUT), School of Engineering Science, Department of Industrial Engineering and Management. Her research focuses on the digitalisation of health and care services, particularly the implementation and use of health and welfare technology such as care robots. She adopts a systemic, sociotechnical perspective that emphasises the interplay between human, social, and technological dimensions in service digitalisation. Her research interests include the human and social aspects of digitalisation, and sociotechnical transitions in health and care systems.
