Zhisong Liu

Prof. Zhi-Song Liu (non-tenure associate professor) joined the Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Laboratory (CVPRL) at the Department of Computational Engineering of Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology LUT, Finland since 2023. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Eletronical and Information Engineering in 2016, 2022 from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prof. Liu's research interests include image/video enhancement, manipulation and other processing, low/high-level computer vision, machine learning and point cloud processing.

Prof. Liu has published over 49 research papers and 2 book chapters. He also have over 20 US patents pending granted. Professor Liu's h-index is 17 with more than 951 citations (Google Scholar). Prof. Liu has been Guest Editor/reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and System II, Image Processing, Circuit & System for Video Technology, and International conferences, including CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NIPS, WACV, ICIP, ICASSP, ISCAS, APSIPA and so on.

Besides LUT, Prof. Liu has worked more than two years in other universities and companies: as a postdoctor at LIX, INRIA, Ecole Polytechnique, France, as a research fellow at Caritas Institue of Higher Education, Hong Kong. He has also worked as a principal research engineer for more than one year at ORO DellTeam.
