Greetings! My name is Daria and I started my adventure with LUT as an Erasmus student in 2012. And it was just the beginning. In 2013, I completed my master’s degree and started working with the Laboratory of Digital Control Systems at LUT. Since then I have been involved in multiple R&D projects, both academic and industrial, ranging from automation and electrical engineering to commercialization. Time flew, and after a few years of work, I started working on my PhD at LUT.

Four years of performing academic research with focus on design and simulation of bearingless motors for an industrial PoC, multidisciplinary FEM and thermal modeling of the actuators, co-operation between different departments of LUT, and teaching helped me to accumulate academic and industrial experience, which culminated in the completion of my doctoral degree in 2022.

Academic and industrial research are close to my heart, and I continue my career with ABB as R&D Senior Engineer, applying engineering skills to solve multidisciplinary problems with an open mind for product development and innovation.

Mentoring means to me sharing and guiding mentees to find the best version of themselves. I do believe that each of you has untapped potential and can achieve wonderful things, and it all starts with believing in yourself! Please, if you have any questions feel free to reach me through LinkedIn.

Be curious and have courage – be unstoppable!
