My name is Waheed Niaz, and I came to Finland in 2009. I have started my Master’s in Software Engineering from LUT (Lappeenranta University of Technology) and graduated in 2012. Post that, in 2018, I have started another Master’s Degree from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences and Graduated in 2020 with the majors in Business Informatics. Besides that, I have also obtained multiple professional certifications.
Regarding my professional life, I have worked in different fields struggling with the part time jobs and finally landing on a professional career. I have started working as Newspaper courier in the beginning and focused more on the studies and learning Finnish language. Once I have completed my master’s from LUT, I have decided to move to capital area for the job search. In around a year time, I landed at a Professional start of my career and scored a job in a well known company. After a year, I have shifted to Metso Finland Oy and till that time, I am working with them.
About the mentoring, I am interested to take through the mentee from the different aspects of studies, Finnish culture, how important is language and how to survive in daily routines. As I have spent more than 6 years in Lappeenranta as well, I can guide them with the city as well as where to find different households and also to make new links.
